Autumn Term Topics
Our theme for the first half of Autumn term is Bears. We will be finding out about all sorts of bears from big grizzly ones to soft cuddly teddies, often using stories as our focus.
Our theme for the second half of term will be Celebrations. We will be taking time to celebrate some of the Autumn festivals and will, of course, be ending the term with a visit from Santa.
The main topic for the first couple of weeks as we greet our new children, is “Welcome to Pre-school”, helping them to settle in and feel safe and secure in their new surroundings
We will not have a set topic each week but we will however have a number of the week:
Wk 1 No number
Wk 2 One
Wk 3 Two
Wk 4 Three
Wk 5 Four
Wk 6 Five
Wk 7 Numbers one to five
Our topics cover all areas of the EYFS curriculum with particular emphasis this term on learning about shape, space and measure; managing feelings and behaviour; learning about the natural world and exploring and using media and materials. Find out more about Learning at Windmill.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who helped make this year’s carnival a success.
A considerable amount of time and effort went into the day and the preparation leading up to it, so well done to all the children, staff, parents and family members who have worked incredibly hard over the last 3 months.
The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves on the float and we managed to raise an amazing £336 on the stall. We will keep you updated on how this fundraising money is spent.
Windmill Pre-School is a registered charity and your kind donations are vital to ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional quality education to children. Find out more about how you can support Windmill.
