The theme for most of the second half of Summer term 2018 is The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Our first week back will be spent learning the story and making preparations for Flitwick Carnival and we will end the term by bringing in teddies from home to join in the fun of Teddy Bears’ Picnics.
We will be welcoming our very own live caterpillars in to preschool, nurturing them as they grow and change into chrysalis and then releasing them in the garden when they become fully fledged butterflies.
This hands-on experience of watching tiny creatures grow and change over time gives many valuable learning opportunities, including working towards early learning goals for understanding the world and personal, social and emotional development.
Learning objectives are shown in more detail on our weekly plans displayed in the hall. If you would like further information please do speak to your child’s keyperson
Our topics cover all areas of the EYFS curriculum with particular emphasis this term on learning about shape, space and measure; managing feelings and behaviour; learning about the natural world and exploring and using media and materials. Find out more about Learning at Windmill.
